Durban laser cutting

Laser Support Services started in 2003 is a Pinetown based laser cutting and CNC bending service centre that aims to satisfy the requirements of a wide range of engineering businesses in the entire province of KZN. We currently run four 2D laser cutting machines with the largest bed size being 3000mm x 1500mm and the greatest power being a 6 KW Fibre Laser which is capable of cutting 25mm mild steel and 16mm stainless steel.

Durban laser cutting provides an economical solution for cutting a wide variety of metals including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper and brass into a wide variety of patterns with a high degree of both accuracy and repeatability. To complement this capability we have four CNC press brakes that can transform flat laser cut parts into three-dimensional bent parts for use in a wide variety of industries. These are also highly accurate machines that are comprehensively tooled to accommodate various different thicknesses of materials.

We have a fully-fledged drawing office where we can assist our clients with both design ideas and drawing of both simple and complicated parts which will then be laser cut and CNC bent if necessary.

Materials

Mild Steel

Mild steel is a very versatile and useful material. It can be machined and worked into complex shapes, has low cost and good mechanical properties.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel does not readily corrode, rust or stain with water as ordinary steel does and is used where both the properties of steel and corrosion resistance are required.

Aluminium

Material properties such as light weight combined with high strength and resistance to corrosion contribute to low environmental loading and makes Aluminium one of the most used metals.
